SPARK Spot

SPARK Spot is uniquely designed for Gilbert-based entrepreneurs.

SPARK Spot is a partnership among Gilbert, Arizona, Southeast Regional Library, and Arizona State University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department to deliver ASU Startup School and business resources for companies. In FY15, the Office of Economic Development (OED) worked collaboratively with the Parks & Recreation department to deliver entrepreneurship programs in the Southeast Regional Library (SERL).

Entrepreneurs can expect to find:

  • Free Business programs; workshops, webinars, streaming videos, etc.
  • Access to the library database and workforce development resources
  • Access to town resources and business assistance
  • Free WiFi
  • Study rooms are available for free through the library’s reservation system

The SPARK Spot is also in partnership with the Town’s SPARK App League. SPARK App League is focused on SPARKing creativity through coding and competition. Students of all experience levels gather for a two-day competition to learn the importance and power of coding from industry experts while competing for prizes. Created by Gilbert, Arizona in 2012, the non-profit program is hosted in partnership with Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and is sponsored by Google. For more information on the SPARK App League, please visit http://www.sparkappleague.com/.
