GILBERT, AZ (November 12, 2013) – Gilbert, Arizona was the first Arizona municipality asked to join the Canada Arizona Business Council. The Canada Arizona Business Council (CABC) is a 501(C)6 non-profit Arizona Corporation, whose purpose is to promote increased trade and investment between Arizona and Canada. The Council’s mission is to assist and facilitate both the commercial and social interaction of individuals, companies, and organizations in pursuing cross border relationships to increase business, and to support trade growth and investments.

“Gilbert is honored to become a Title Partner of the CABC. The continued investments of Canadian companies in Gilbert, particularly in the areas of high-tech, engineering and information technologies, contributes to Gilbert’s focus on retaining and attracting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) industries,” said Gilbert, Arizona Mayor John Lewis.  “As a member, we hope to establish relationships that will increase foreign direct investment opportunities and support policies that increase the ease of doing business in Arizona and promote bi-lateral trade.”

“Our network of partners and members are an invaluable asset to the Canada Arizona Business Council as their contributions make it possible to bring together Arizona and Canadian business leaders and governmental agencies in order to facilitate investment at the decision making level. Gilbert’s decision to become a Title Partner demonstrates the dedication of local governmental leaders in supporting our mission to increase the already growing $3.9 billion in bi-lateral trade taking place between Arizona and Canada.” said R. Glenn Williamson, Canada Arizona Business Council Founder and CEO.
